If you have ever been to a Women’s Business Forum of Bucks County (WBF) meeting, you are invited to attend the organization’s final meeting and celebration on Wednesday, July 19th from 6:30 – 9:30 pm at the historic Stonebrook Farm, located at 475 Deep Run Road in Perkasie. Tickets can be purchased online at wbfmissionaccomplished.eventbrite.com and the event is free for current supporting members, Margaret Mead members and past board members. After this event, the non-profit will cease operations, as their mission has been accomplished through educating, inspiring, and mentoring thousands of local business women over the past 15 years.
The event will include recognitions and dedications, presentation of the Karen Walsh Fund, dancing and celebrating, plus hors d’oeuvres with a champagne toast. According to president, Laura Templeton, “It will be a night of sharing and many memories.” Attendees are asked to ponder the question and come prepared to share their thoughts regarding, “The WBF changed my life because…”
About the Women’s Business Forum of Bucks County
In 2002 the founder, Chanin Milnazik, envisioned an organization that was geared toward supporting entrepreneurs without burdening them. What ensued was a unique format, with educational and networking meetings held the first Wednesday morning of every month in Doylestown for the past fifteen years. Meetings were always free and open to everyone, with no industry exclusivity. Industry leaders were brought in to inspire member’s growth toward building their own successful businesses, and long-term relationships were built. Members were asked to give back financially only if and when they gained value from the organization. “We were always there to support members either way,” explained Chanin.
At a WBF advisory board meeting earlier this year, it was noted that the needs of the community have changed since the organization began. The board felt that ceasing operations and planning the July 19th Mission Accomplished celebration to go out on a positive note was the best course of action to honor the amazing efforts of so many volunteers, supporters and organizers.
