(Lambertville, NJ) – On Friday, April 22, the Riverside Symphonia will present “Bach Grieg, and Haydn”, a musical celebration from the repertoire of those legendary Baroque and Classical masters.
The Symphonia’s annual Spring Concert conjures up the spirit of spring’s rebirth in our region. The beauty of the Baroque style will be on full display with its rich ornamentation and detail. This performance celebrates that special era through Bach’s concerto; Romantic composer Edvard Grieg’s love letter to the times of famous 17th century playwright and humanist Ludvig Holberg with his Suite of Baroque Dances; and Classical composer Haydn’s Symphony No. 49 with its spiritual notes of the season. Riverside Symphonia’s own celebrated musicians Ruotao Mao and Lynne Cohen are the featured soloists of what promises to be a memorable and moving evening of fine music.
The Spring Concert will also feature a special tribute to Arne Running, a beloved and notable member of the Symphonia for almost 20 years, who has recently passed away.
“Bach Grieg, and Haydn” will take place Friday, April 22 at 8:00 PM at St. Martin of Tours in New Hope, PA. Tickets are available online at www.riversidesymphonia.org or by calling the Symphonia at 609-397-7300. Tickets may be also be purchased at 3 ticket locations: Angel’s Cards in New Hope and Blue Raccoon in Lambertville.
